Statement Delivered by Ambassador Sophia Tesfamariam
At the 5th United Conference on the LDC
Mr. President,
Distinguished Heads of State and Government,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
At the outset, on behalf of the Government of State of Eritrea, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to the United nations for organizing the 5th Conference of the Least Developed Countries (LDC’s) and would like to extend my appreciation to the State of Qatar for hosting this important event and warmly welcoming un in this beautiful city of Doha.
Mr. President,
This year’s Conference is of special significance as it is being held at a time when the global economy is facing enormous challenges emanating from Covid-19 pandemic and the wars and geopolitical tensions in different parts of the world.
