Eritrea – Health Millennium Development Goals
« As articulated in the Health Sector Strategic Plan Development Plan (2013-2016), the overall goal of the health system in Eritrea is the improvement of health status, general wellbeing, longevity and economic productivity for all Eritreans. Over the last few years, the country has achieved remarkable progress on basic health indicators, including significant reductions in maternal and child mortality ratios and HIV prevalence. Access to healthcare within a 10-kilometre radius has increased significantly since Eritrea gained independence in 1991.”
