Eritrean Institute and Colleges graduate 2624 students

1- Eritrean Institute of Technology graduates 1463 students

Asmara, 06 July 2017- In its 10th commencement the Eritrean Institute of Technology graduated today, 6 July, 1463 students in masters, first degree and diploma.The graduates include 33 in Masters, 873 in degree and 557 in diploma in different fields of study including Science, Engineering, Education, Information Technology, Finance Management and International Business.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Semere Russom, Minister of Education, pointing out that the growing progression of human resources development was the result of the Government’s huge investment to provide free of charge education to all citizens. Minister Semere also called on the graduates to apply the knowledge they acquired in the nation building process.

The Vice President of the institute, Prof. Gebrehiwet Medhane on his part said that the Eritrean Institute of technology comprises three colleges and is significantly contributing in producing skilled human resources that are expected to play due role in the nation building process. The representative of the graduates stated that the huge investment the government is making towards education attests to its commitment
for the country’s human resources development and expressed readiness to diligently serve their government and people. The Eritrean Institute of Technology since its establishment in 2008 has so far graduated 8490 in diploma, 4887 in first degree and 116 in post graduate program

2- Health Science College Graduates 565 Students

Asmara, 4 July 2017 – The College of Health Science, in its ninth commencement, graduated a total of 565 students including 256 females in different health disciplines.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Gidei Gebreyohannes, explained that efforts to train professionals equipped with the necessary discipline and profession would make significant contribution vis-a-vis the provision of proper health services.
He further noted that upgrading the professional skill of instructors and the expansion of laboratory service at national level are among the programs that the college has mapped out.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Amina Nur-husein, Minister of Health, indicated that substantial investment is being made to expand health services across the nation. She also stated that significant progress has been made through integrated effort on the part of the ministry and stakeholders.
A representative of the graduates commended the opportunity afforded them and they expressed readiness to live up to expectations.
The College of Health Science has graduated a total of 3,145 students since its establishment in 1999.
In a related report, Asmara Technical School has graduated 204 students including 84 females upon completion of a two-year long theoretical and participatory course in 9 fields of studiy,
including Construction, Mechanics, Design, Electricity, General Metal and Woodworks, Electronics and Surveying.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Tesfay Sium, Director General of Technical and Vocational Training in the Education Ministry, said that Asmara Technical School has for the last 60 years been nurturing technically-skilled students and who are making due contribution in the nation-building process. He further called on the graduates to demonstrate excellence in their places work and thus become role models.
Meanwhile, the Dekemhare-based Donbosko Technical School, in its 14th commencement, graduated 198 students including 99 females at Certificate level. The fields of study comprised Mechanics, Wood and Metal Works, Construction, Electricity, Surveying and Electronics. Established in 1998, Donbosko Technical School kicked off with 45 students in the fields of metal works and construction. It has so far graduated a total of 2,539 students.

3- College of Arts and Social Science graduates 281 students

Adi-Keih, 05 July 2017- The Adi-Keih College of Arts and Social Science graduated 281 students out of which over 50% females in different fields of study with degree, diploma and certificate.
203 of the students graduated in degree, 18 in diploma and 60 in certificate in eleven fields of study including Geography, History, English Language, Tigrigna Language and Literature, Archeology, Law, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Social Works and Fine Arts.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Woldetensae Tewolde pointed out that the College of Arts and Social Science is making significant contribution in producing skilled human resources and that the commencement of post graduate program in Topography Information attests to the continuation of its efforts.
Indicating that the college in the coming academic year will introduce additional two degree programs, Dr Woldetensae
indicated that the instructors that were send abroad for PHD have successfully completed their education and that will significant contribute in strengthening the capacity of the college.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Ms. Fozia Hashim, Minister of Justice called on the graduates to live up to expectation of the their country and people.
The representative of the graduates commended for the opportunity they were provided and expressed readiness to live up to expectations.
College of Arts and Social Science since its establishment in 2006 is graduating students for the 10th commencement.

4 -Halhale College of Business and Economics graduates 315 students

Asmara, 03 July 2017- Halhale College of Business and Economics graduated 315 students out of which 42% female students on 01 July in degree and diploma.
192 of the students graduated with degree and 124 with diploma in different fields of study including in Accounting, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Public Administration and Banking.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Estifanos Hailemariam, dean of the college, stated that education is a vital instrument for ensuring social justice as well as sustainable national development. He also said that the huge investments made in education in the past 26 years of independence attest to the government’s commitment and continuous efforts to advance free educational opportunity to all citizens.
Dr. Estifanos pointed out that the college over the past 10 years has been fully engaged in launching undergraduate programs, promoting fields of education, advancing the capacity of teachers as well as strengthening joint efforts in cooperation with stakeholders to initiate research based undergraduate programs.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Askalu Menkerios, Minister of Tourism, underlined that tremendous educational advancements have been achieved owing to the substantial investment made by the Government. Minister Askalu also called on the graduates to live up to the nation’s expectations.
In the same vein, representative of the graduates expressed appreciation for the opportunity they were provided and voiced commitment to serve their country and people with dedication.
The Halhale College of Business and Economics has so far graduated 4,694 students since its establishment in 2005.
